I’m just a girl looking for work. At least that sounds much cooler than pitching myself as a writer and public relations pro. People like me are masters of staying behind the scenes and making our clients look good, like a modern-day Cyrano de Bergerac, but with a better nose. In a nutshell, I gather details of what clients want to say, advise them of the best way to say it and counsel them on when and where it should be said.

Businesses have a lot to say, after all. Common among my experience are press announcements, customer and employee communications, annual reports, speeches, social media site updates, newsletter articles, magazine stories, product/service promotions, advertisements, website content and much, much more.

I’ve worked for a large ad agency and a small one, with freelance work in between to care for my mother following a disabling stroke. My current freelance work allows me the freedom to stay at home during my son’s early years. It’s a win-win for everyone!

I’m happiest when writing, but am abundantly comfortable in a project management position as well. I can do everything in marketing communications except graphic design. I literally can’t draw a recognizeable stick figure. If a freelance project requires art, I have a great relationship with McDougall & Duval Advertising, who I used to work for full time. I currently support their writing needs from home on a project basis.

Take a look at some of my work posted here and please let me know if I can answer any questions. I am open to freelance work within an hour’s drive of Amesbury, Mass., or full-time work within a 20-mile radius.
